Health Visitors
Health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives with additional specialist training in public health. They work with all families in Oxfordshire from pregnancy to starting school. They lead the Health Child Programme, alongside their teams of community staff nurse, community nursery nurses and administrators. They support parents to give your child the best start in life.
They provide a professional public health service based on the best evidence in the best interests of individuals, families, groups and communities. They work to enhance health and reduce health inequalities through a proactive, universal service for all children 0-5 years and for vulnerable populations targeted according to need.
