Change Your Nominated Pharmacy

Updated: 15 August 2025

Use this page to change your Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) nominated pharmacy so your prescriptions go to the right place.

Important: Jhoots Pharmacy (Abingdon) is currently closed. Please select an alternative pharmacy below and submit the form at the bottom of this page.

How nomination works

  • Your nomination tells the NHS where to send your electronic prescriptions.
  • You can change or remove your nomination at any time.
  • Most changes apply within 24–48 hours once we process your request.
  • If you order via the NHS App or our online services, please still submit this change so your prescriptions arrive at your chosen pharmacy.

Choosing a pharmacy

You can choose any pharmacy that accepts EPS, including many high-street and online pharmacies.

Not sure which pharmacy to pick? You can search the NHS directory here: Find a pharmacy.

Tip: What if my pharmacy is closed or out of stock?

If your chosen pharmacy is closed or doesn’t have stock, you can ask us to temporarily send a prescription to a different pharmacy. For urgent medication when we are closed, use NHS 111.

What we will do

  1. Receive your request from the form below.
  2. Update your EPS nomination on your GP record.
  3. Confirm the change (only if we need more information).

Information we need

  • Your full name and date of birth.
  • Contact number/email in case we need to clarify details.
  • The full name and, if possible, the address/postcode of your new pharmacy.
  • Whether this change is permanent or temporary.

Privacy

We will use the information you provide to update your NHS record and manage your prescriptions. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

What is your date of birth?*
Jhoots Pharmacy is currently experiencing service issues and may be unable to process prescriptions. If you are nominated to Jhoots, we recommend temporarily choosing an alternative pharmacy to avoid delays.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a nomination change take?

Usually within 24–48 hours of us processing your request. If you need a prescription today, call the surgery.

Can I have more than one nominated pharmacy?

No. EPS supports one nominated pharmacy at a time, but we can send a one-off prescription elsewhere if needed.

Will my current prescription be affected?

If a prescription has already been issued to your old pharmacy, ask the pharmacy or call the practice for advice. New prescriptions will go to your updated nomination.
