Important Update: Supporting Our Patients During High Demand

 

We understand that many of you are experiencing longer wait times for appointments at the surgery. We want to assure you that we're doing everything we can to see patients as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, due to an unprecedented level of demand, our resources are currently stretched thin.

What We're Doing:

  • Total Triage System: We've implemented a total triage system, where all requests are assessed by a clinician. This ensures each patient receives the most appropriate care, whether it's an urgent appointment, a telephone consultation, or self-care advice.
  • Increased Appointments: We've expanded our appointment availability, including offering more same-day appointments. However, these are often taken up by issues more suited to self-care or pharmacy consultations.
  • Reviewing Processes: We're continually reviewing our processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure we're operating at maximum efficiency.

How You Can Help:

  • Use the Right Service: Please choose the right service for your needs. Urgent concerns require an appointment, while minor issues are best addressed through self-care (e.g., using over-the-counter medications, resting) or a pharmacy visit. This helps us prioritise appointments for those who truly need them.
  • Be Kind: We understand that waiting can be frustrating, but please remember our staff are working hard to help everyone. Abusive behavior towards our team is unacceptable and does not help us provide the best care possible.
